Descent isn’t failure.

It’s where the work begins.

Before we can rise, we must go down.

The orca’s leap above the waterline is only possible because of its dive: it must descend into the deep to gather the strength and momentum to rise.

Just so, we descend to our own depths not to wallow in suffering or cling to a past we cannot change, but to retrieve what is vital — the parts of ourselves we had to leave behind in order to survive.

Therapy helps make meaning of pain, restore contact with what was lost, and build the momentum needed to rise again — not as we were, but as someone more whole.
